Furniture Fundraiser

The Mount Clemens Public Library is one of the oldest libraries in the State of Michigan and has been a pillar of civic life in the Mount Clemens community since its founding in 1865. We began in the Carnegie Library Building on Gratiot Avenue (currently the Anton Art Center) and for the past 70 years, have made our home at 150 Cass Avenue. In 2020, the residents of Mount Clemens approved funds for a major renovation of the Cass Avenue building to address aging infrastructure concerns. The renovation also allowed for a reconfiguration of the interior library spaces allowing the library to offer additional programs and services, and welcome all members of the community. We are excited to unveil the renovated and redesigned building to the public in Fall of 2022. While the funding approved by the residents of Mount Clemens was meant to cover all expenses related to the renovation, exponential increases in supply chain and labor costs during the pandemic has forced some changes to the plan. These decisions are never easy but we ultimately decided to prioritize infrastructure improvement at the expense of interior furnishings. To keep the cost of the renovation within the allotted budget, the library is asking for your help.
