Spring/Summer Fiction Sneak Previews

Here’s a look at what’s coming from your favorite authors this spring and summer. Registered library card holders may call the library at (586) 469-6200 to place holds on these forthcoming titles. When you place your hold in advance, you help your librarians decide how many copies of a popular title will be needed to meet demand. Berg, Elizabeth. The Story of Arthur Truluv. (Coming in July). A touching novel about three people who have lost the person they love most, and must find a way back to happiness. Arthur, a widower, meets Maddy, an angry teenage girl, at the cemetery where he goes every day for lunch to visit his late wife. An unlikely friendship develops and along with Arthur’s neighbor, Lucille, the three band together and discover that life’s special moments are sweeter when shared. This is a moving story about finding happiness when hope seems lost.

Box, C. J. Paradise Valley. (July). The third book in the Cassie Dewell series. Cassie Dewell works for the Bakken County, North Dakota sheriff’s department. Her plan to track a serial killer goes horribly awry and she gets let go from her job. She decides to work alone to find the killer as well as a missing youth.

Evanovich, Janet. Dangerous Minds: A Knight and Moon Novel. (June). Evanovich delivers the second installment in the Knight and Moon Series. Emerson Knight is enlisted to solve the mystery of the disappearance of a Buddhist monk’s island of solitude two hundred miles northeast of Samoa. Knight and Moon go on a worldwide investigation which will expose a hundred year conspiracy in the making.

Evans, Richard Paul. The Broken Road. (June). Chicago celebrity Charles James has a recurring nightmare of walking down a long broken highway where the sides of the road are lit in flames. By day he wonders about the nightmares; he has everything – fame, fortune, and the lifestyle he has dreamed of since the poverty and pain of his childhood. Now he begins to wonder if he has wanted the wrong things.

Gerritsen, Tess. I Know a Secret: A Rizzoli & Isles Novel. (August). Another thriller with crime-solving duo Jane Rizzoli and Maura Isles. They investigate the gruesome murder of a horror film producer.

Grisham, John. Camino Island. (June). Grisham delivers another suspenseful crime novel looking into the world of rare book dealers. (more…)
